Dick was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He accepted Christ as his Savior as a teenager during the AWANA program while attending Camp Awana in Fredonia, Wisconsin.
Dick graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant Management. Being a proponent of life-long learning, he earned his MBA in his mid fifties from the Keller School of Management. Dick served as an officer in the United States Navy running Navy clubs and hotels in Alaska and California. He currently teaches part time at The Waukesha County Technical College.
Dick met his wife Mary while attending the University of Illinois. They have two children: Mark, who is an IT professional and Cathy, who is a Registered Nurse. They are blessed to have both of them living in the Milwaukee-area, and get to enjoy spending time with them on a pretty regular basis.
In 1979 Dick and Mary rededicated their lives to Jesus Christ and He has been the Lord of their lives since then.
Dick sees his role with The Word for Life as working with a team of committed Christians and taking the biblical truths that are taught at Brookside Baptist Church and providing them to audiences around the world via radio, Internet, a variety of print publications, and perhaps television in the future.
